Samsung today announced that it’s not quite done with its tablet portfolio. Though the company recently began selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and it’s 8-inch display, it will soon add the 7-inch display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 to its portfolio.

The Galaxy Tab 3 is noticeably behind the curve of what other tablets, including the aforementioned Note 8.0, offer. The 7-inch display has WSVGA (1024×600) resolution, so users will see only 169 pixels per inch. The Galaxy Tab 3 has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software, and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB or 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot that supports up to 64GB.

On the bright side, the Galaxy Tab 3 has the potential to be a long-lasting device thanks to its 4,000 mAh battery. We’ll know for sure when the Wi-Fi version of the tablet goes on sale beginning in May. Samsung plans to release a 3G version of Galaxy Tab 3 in June.
